About Mark...

Mark is a Chartered Psychologist and highly experienced Cognitive Behavioural/Compassion Focused Psychotherapist with over a decade of clinical and academic experience across NHS, occupational health, and private practice settings. He has worked in senior clinical roles, including Band 8a positions, and has extensive experience supporting individuals with complex mental health, workplace stress, and return-to-work needs. He has also worked as a facilitator for group related difficulties including trauma informed debriefing (Post Event Team Reflections), reflective practice, workshops to manage distress, team formulations and staff charters along with taking the lead on Compassionate Workplaces training. He has also attended specialist CFT training on Staff Team Support; & Complex trauma from a CFT perspective.

Mark holds a Doctorate in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology, and postgraduate qualifications in teaching, advanced CBT and Compassion-Focused Therapy. He has also completed training in EMDR, Schema Therapy & DBT. Alongside his clinical work, he has lectured in psychology at Solent University, Southampton and brings a strong evidence-based, compassionate, and practical approach to assessment, therapy, and workplace mental health support.

Outside of work, he enjoys coffee, running, martial arts, videogames and spending time with his family.

BPS accredited undergraduate degree in Psychology. This course provided graduate basis for chartership. There was a focus on occupational psychology & mental health.

This masters focused heavily on mental health & wellbeing along with practical training in CBT and psychodynamic psychotherapy.

Mark's PhD focused on risk factors for poor mental health including trauma, poor family environments, stressful life events and parent-child relationships. A strong focus on SEM analyses was used to explore the data and its links with a range of poor psychological outcomes.

Compassionate Mind Foundation

A practice-focused professional training for experienced clinicians that deepens understanding of Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), integrating theory with real-world clinical skills. Delivered online with expert supervision, the diploma builds competence in applying CFT principles to help clients work with shame, self-criticism and emotional regulation within a supportive learning community with 650 hours of CPD.

This role involved psychological and fitness to work assessments of staff throughout the Belfast Trust. This would include offering guidance, advice and recommendations to both staff and managers whilst negotiating adjustments to help facilitate a return to work. I also provided supervision to some staff including assistants and trainee counselling students and trainee clinical psychologists.

About Bridgene...

is a qualified Social Worker with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals and families affected by disability. She has spent 6 years working within the Mental Health and Learning Disability directorate, supporting individuals with complex needs to access appropriate care, education, and community supports.

Prior to this, she worked for three years in a specialist social work team supporting disabled children and their families in Hampshire County Council, England. She brings extensive expertise in care coordination, advocacy, multidisciplinary working, and navigating health, education, and social care systems. Her role focuses on compassionate case management, ensuring individuals and families receive joined-up, practical, and person-centred support.

Outside of work, Bridgene is a mum first and assertive about work life balance. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
